Which questions are included?

All 466 questions of the official ELWIS catalogue (status August 2023): 72 basic questions that are part of both exams, 181 questions for SBF Binnen (motor) and 213 for SBF See. Every image question has an illustration, and sound signals can be played.

How does the exam simulation work?

Like the real multiple-choice exam: 7 basic + 23 licence-specific questions. You pass with at least 5 of 7 basic and 18 of 23 specific answers correct. Time limit: 45 minutes (Binnen) or 60 minutes (See). The navigation task of the SBF See exam is not part of the simulation. There is no feedback until the end.

Why are the answers in a different order than in the catalogue?

In the official catalogue the first answer is always the correct one. The App shuffles the answers so that you learn the content, not the position.

What is spaced repetition?

Each question you answer comes back after 1, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days. A wrong answer starts the cycle again. Questions that are due appear under Today on the home screen.

Can I study in English?

The exam is held in German, so questions are always shown in German. You can show an unofficial English translation below each question (Settings → Show English translation). The app interface is available in English and German and follows your device language; on Android 13+ and iOS you can also set it per app in the system settings.

How do I move my progress to a new device?

iPhone/iPad: turn on Sync with iCloud in Settings on both devices. Android: progress is included in your Android backup when it is turned on in the system settings.

The daily reminder does not appear.

Make sure notifications are allowed for SBF Exam Prep in your system settings. On Android, battery optimisation may delay the reminder by a few minutes. The reminder is skipped on Android if you have already studied that day.

How do I reset my progress?

Settings → Reset all progress. With iCloud sync enabled, the reset applies to all your Apple devices.
